#What managed variables do
Managed presentation variables let an approved presentation show a different local value on each player, such as a location code, display label or content choice.
#Editable and read-only values
| Value type | Operator behaviour |
|---|---|
| Local editable value | May be set for one player when the change is approved |
| Managed value | BrightBridge remembers the intended local value |
| Generated or feed value | Read-only; controlled by its source |
| System value | Read-only; supplied by the player or presentation |
#Set and keep a value
- 1Select one player and the approved presentation.
- 2Open its variable values in the release workflow.
- 3Enter the approved value exactly as supplied.
- 4Choose the keep or manage option only when BrightBridge should preserve that intent.
- 5Run a fresh dry run and confirm the displayed value before applying.
#Release a managed value
Releasing management stops BrightBridge enforcing the saved local value. A later presentation release can then use the presentation's normal behaviour.
#Variables and rollback
A content rollback restores saved presentation content. It does not necessarily reverse the separate intent for managed player values. Review those values after every rollback and verify what the player displays.
